Building a Steam Engine, British Style

Enjoyment of the fine details in brass models can be increased with an understanding of 'real' world prototypes.  This video presentation shows the detailed construction of a British "Princess Royal" Class 4-6-2 for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS)  The Princess Royal Class is a 4 cylinder express passenger steam locomotives designed by William_Stanier built at Crewe Works, between 1933 and 1935.  This high quality video provides excellent background on 1930s production with a focus on the casting of large steel components.
